How do you prepare better than your competition when renting a house?

How do you increase your chance of that house? In this case, good preparation is more than half the battle. Preparation
In fact, when renting a house, we believe there is no gold egg. A silver egg. And the silver egg consists of a thorough preparation, a dedicated working attitude (yes, really) and the confidence that it will succeed. Let's zoom in on these points so that we can ensure that you can move into your new palace as quickly as possible. First the thorough preparation. How much do you do in advance to get your house? More than just responding? So again, make your preparation thoroughly. How do you do this then?

Collect the correct papers
Every real estate agent or homeowner uses his / her own ways to check whether you are the right person for the house. Certainly not because they want to know for sure that you fit so well with the house and are the right person who will take care of their house so well. No, they usually just want to know if you have sufficient resources to pay your rent each month. The financial means (read: I want the money), but also personal means, so whether you pay the rent on time every month (read: I want the money). So we can roughly make an estimate of the papers that you have to hand in and / or show in order to have a chance to win that palace at all.

If you think now, I will arrange this if I am told that I have a chance: don't do it, do it now! With a number of documents you have no influence when you receive them. You must apply for the employer's and landlord's declaration and both employer and municipality really have no message to the umpteenth person who really needs it now. Save yourself stress and arrange it.

You need these papers
So what papers do you need for renting a home?
- Your last three payslips
- Your contract
- With a temporary contract also an employer's statement
- A reference (landlord statement) from your current landlord
- Two proofs of your current address: 2 accounts with your name and address on it
- Bank statement with the debit of the rent, at least up to 6 months back
- Bank statement with the addition of your salary, at least up to 6 months back
- Are you self-employed? Then we will soon let you know which documents you need.

Take these papers to the viewing
The title says it all, take the papers with you to the viewing. You score points because you show that you have already prepared. Even if it appears that you do not yet have all the documents that they would like to see, then still give the papers that you do have during the viewing. It shows punctuality that you are serious and you realize that they also have to do their job. Especially when the property is forgiven, this will really help you.

Add a table of contents
Then you must always assume that you are not the only one who has already taken the papers, so how do you distinguish yourself in this? By adding a table of contents and putting the papers in a nice folder. Everyone likes having an overview and that is how you create it. Then add your contact details to the table of contents, they no longer need to search for them if they want to call you with the message tha t it has become you.

Write a nice handwritten note with your motivation
And as a bonus and an extra “score!”, Add a handwritten motivation note as the last. Short and powerful, so no declaration of love of two pages. You can introduce yourself here, who you are, where you work, what your position is and add some hobbies. Where especially the hobbies do well showing that you are a quiet tenant. So you better omit drumming or experimenting with chemical agents.

Make sure you keep checking the website every day (at one fixed time). You will see that you immediately recognize the newest homes after a week. This gives you an immediate advantage over your 'competition' and that is that you can respond immediately to every new home. And the advantage for yourself is that you know for sure that you have responded quickly.

Stay positive
